Implementation of Equitable Use and Flexibility of Use in the Design of Public Housings in Jakarta, Indonesia

Population growth happens quickly in Indonesia, especially Jakarta. With reduced land due to infrastructure development, population does not go parallel with the need for housing, which should be a basic every human being. This makes construction of residential houses arranged vertically called public housing. It can reduce use and create urban open spaces. Public housing based on an inclusive design approach that considers diversity. The Indonesia has met needs all humans, aspect ages disabilities. building is still togetherness user activities. In design, it expected carried out fairly, fair users flexibility space. Aspects equitable by pedestrian access facilities, along space expandability, convertibility, versatility. method used qualitative exploration three cases housings. variables are aspects related use. results reveal recommended according aspects, factors easy understand accessible elderly wheelchairs, affordable facilities. Spaces built long term flexibility, such as multifunctional communal spaces, expansion spaces near unexpected uses, well shared users.
